Pascal Capitolin Pascal Capitolin has been working as a sound engineer for documentary films since 1995. Born in France with Caribbean background (Martinique/Guadeloupe), he moved to Germany in 1993 where he started his Film-Sound career. Being quite an unusual engineer with a big interest in author film writing, he accompanied many directors such as art film director Phillip Scheffner (Day of the sparrow) or US Documentary Film Makers and Oscar Winners Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman (Paragraph 175) from the first written outline until final post-production.
His professional interests of creative documentary films have a strong focus on cultural, historical and music topics. Among the production he has been working on, many have received international awards, as “Kinshasa Symphony” (2009); „Rythm is it!“ (2003); „Trip to Asia“ (2005); „Hotel Sahara” (2008); „In Berlin“ (2009); „Revision“ (2011).
From 2003 until 2005 he studied Politics and Organization at the Hagen Foreign University. In 2010 he was qualified as a Peace Advisor at the Academy for Conflict Transformation in Bonn/Köngiswinter.
From 2011 until 2014 Pascal lived in Central Africa (Burundi) where he has been coordinating film and media productions for the Dutch NGO „La Benevolencija“ with a strong focus on conflict resolution. He also directed a documentary film („Rwagasore“) and a science fiction Film „Imashoka“) which have been used in reconciliation debates throughout Burundi. Since July 1994 he is back in Germany.
